Fire Resistance: 30, 60 or 90 minutes and escape operation

A safe living and working environment is important. Fire safety plays a very important role in this. In order to ensure a fire-safe passage, fire-resistant doors are necessary or even required. ALARA doors can therefore combine fire-resistant as well as sound-insulating properties.

ALARA’s fire-resistant exterior and interior steel doors are tested in accordance with the strict European Standard EN 1634-1. This standard describes exactly how a door should be tested and under what conditions.

Exterior doors can be supplied with CE marking, according to the specifications and classifications below:

Certificate of Constancy of Performance:

  • CE fire resistance doors N1812-CPR-2309, according to standards EN 14351-1:2006 + A:2016 and EN 16034:2014
  • Smoke resistance rating: C0a and C0200
EI1I2Wt
E———30 /60 / 90
EI1——30 / 60
E—I2—30 / 60
E——W30 / 60 / 90

Fire doors custom-made:

Our single-leaf and double-leaf fire doors are custom-made to comply with your desired specifications. You can find the fire resistance ratings in the table above. If desired, our fire doors can also be equipped with windows.

The rough openings in meters are based on a block frame with 1-point locking (larger dimensions with multi-point locking available on request).

  • Single-leaf doors swinging away from the fire and toward the fire, we can supply with a maximum width of 1,489 mm (W) x a maximum height of 3,361 mm (H).
  • Double-leaf doors swinging away from the fire and toward the fire, we can supply with a maximum width of 2,914 mm (W) x a maximum height of 3,361 mm (H).

Escape Operation: Certificate of Constancy of Performance:

  • Certification Scheme: NEN-EN 14351-1; Escape Doors.
  • CE fire resistance doors 0960-CPR-SKGIKOB.010524.02.ENG, according to EN 179 and EN 1125 standards.
    • Lever-operated door release systems must meet requirements of EN 179.
    • Emergency exits with push bars must meet requirements of EN 1125.

Burglary Resistance

ALARA produces burglary-resistant solutions in different classes:
  • Resistance class 2
  • Resistance class 3

Officially tested and certified in accordance with EN 1627:2011

EMC/EMP Safety

For military, police and data security applications, ALARA supplies customer-specific EMC/EMP secure doors. Thanks to special developments in the field of capturing and properly dissipating electro magnetic signals, both eavesdropping and intrusion via electromagnetism can be minimized.

Access Control

ALARA has years of experience integrating various access control systems for doors. This often requires an electrical connection, which we realize without affecting the existing properties of the door – such as fire resistance, sound insulation or RF shielding. Our specialists will be happy to advise you on the optimal combination of door performances and the access control system you require.

Acoustic Performance ALARA Doors: Special Insulation Values per Door Type

High acoustic performance for every application. Our sound-insulating doors are designed to provide optimal noise reduction in industrial, technical, and commercial environments. Depending on the door type, the doors achieve excellent acoustic performance of up to Rw 56 dB, significantly reducing noise disturbance.

Thanks to our custom-made solutions, the doors can be perfectly tailored to the specific requirements of your project, including dimensions, finish, fire resistance, and frequency of use. This makes them ideal for applications such as machine rooms, technical facilities, power plants, production facilities, HVAC installations, and other environments where sound insulation is crucial. Frequently asked questions

What is a soundproof door?

A soundproof door is a specially designed door that significantly reduces sound transmission between two spaces. In industrial environments, acoustic doors are used to combine sound insulation with safe and easy access to technical installations, machine rooms, or production areas.

At ALARA, acoustic doors are fully custom-designed and integrated into sound-insulating walls, enclosures, and technical rooms. This preserves the acoustic performance of the overall structure while keeping installations easily accessible for inspection and maintenance.

When is a soundproof door the right solution?

A soundproof door is suitable when a room needs to be accessed regularly without compromising sound insulation. Common applications include:

  • Machine rooms
  • Generator rooms
  • Technical installations
  • Power plants
  • Data centers
  • Compressor rooms
  • Industrial production facilities

Integrating an acoustic door keeps the space easily accessible while effectively reducing noise.

How does a soundproof door work?

A soundproof door reduces noise through a combination of sound-insulating materials, specialized seals, and a heavy-duty door construction. Key components include:

  • Multi-layer door leaves
  • Acoustic seals
  • Automatic drop seals
  • Insulated frames
  • High-quality locking mechanisms

These components prevent noise from escaping through gaps or openings.

How much noise reduction can a soundproof door achieve?

The level of noise reduction depends on the application and the required performance of the overall structure.

During the design process, ALARA matches the door to the acoustic properties of the surrounding wall or enclosure. This prevents the door from becoming a weak point within the system and ensures that the required sound insulation is maintained.

Are large maintenance doors possible?

Yes. In addition to standard personnel doors, ALARA also supplies large maintenance doors and double doors for installations that need to be regularly accessed using equipment or lifting devices.

This allows maintenance to be carried out efficiently without removing complete panels.

Can doors be fully customized?

Yes. Every application has different requirements regarding dimensions, frequency of use, safety, and maintenance. ALARA therefore develops custom doors tailored to:

  • Available space
  • Required noise reduction
  • Safety regulations
  • Fire safety, where required
  • Maintenance requirements
  • Intensity of use

Can windows or inspection panels be integrated?

Yes. Acoustic inspection windows can be integrated where required. This allows installations to be visually inspected without opening the room.

These windows are designed to preserve the acoustic performance of the door.

Are the doors suitable for intensive industrial use?

Yes. ALARA acoustic doors are designed for long-term use in demanding industrial environments.

Depending on the application, the design takes into account:

  • Heavy mechanical loads
  • High frequency of use
  • Moisture
  • Dust
  • Chemical exposure
  • Corrosion

Can soundproof doors be combined with other solutions?

Yes. Soundproof doors often form part of an overall solution. They are commonly combined with:

  • Sound-insulating enclosures
  • Sound-insulating walls
  • Custom containers
  • Ventilation sets
  • Acoustic grilles

This creates a single integrated acoustic system.

Why choose soundproof doors from ALARA?

A soundproof door must not only reduce noise but also be safe, durable, and practical.

By combining custom engineering with high-quality materials, ALARA develops doors that integrate perfectly with the overall installation and continue to operate reliably for many years.
