Acoustic Grilles for OKU House Amsterdam
Above the Berghaus and Fashion House office complexes, 324 apartments have been realized, consisting of 112 social rental homes and 212 mid-market and private sector rental homes.
OKU House provides an important boost to the ambition of keeping Amsterdam accessible and livable for diverse target groups, including people with modest incomes. In addition to promoting a balanced housing mix, the project also contributes to the overall livability of the city. By creating new connections in the area, including a bridge and a publicly accessible square, a vibrant environment has been established for both residents and employees. Furthermore, meeting spaces, abundant greenery, and waterfront decks add extra quality and opportunities to stay and enjoy the area.
ALARA’s Contribution to this Project
For this residential project, ALARA supplied a large number of acoustic grilles (AlMg3 version), featuring a modified ventilation slot to precisely meet the requirements of the client and end user. This achieved an optimal acoustic performance while ensuring sufficient ventilation for the spaces behind.
The sound-dampening grilles were finished with a special powder coating selected by the architect (Axalta Anodic Bronze).
The connection detail was fully custom-developed to allow seamless integration into the façade elements of Blitta Gevelsystemen B.V.
Blitta developed, produced, and installed the prefabricated element façade, which meets the highest standards in terms of wind and water tightness and airtight construction.
ALARA is proud of its contribution to this remarkable project.
